enjoyable if you like fluff
baka-ali23 September 2007
i can see why some people may dislike this show, but i honestly don't understand the vehement hatred that is expressed by one of the other reviewers.

i personally love this show, OK so the main character is a bit wimpy but that's always the way with these shows. it has a interesting array of characters, and a perverted sense of humour and it's a nice bit of fluff to pass the time away.

the writers could have done more to maintain the mystery of who the school's chairman was for longer, i found that that finding out so early ruined it slightly but it's not a dire hit to the story on the whole.

if you're looking for a deep and challenging series i recommend watching evangelion or gundam wing because you won't find that in Gakuen Heaven. if you want some shameless fluff with plenty of bishounen then you've found what you're looking for.

a complete waste of time, don't get near it.

it's so sad that until there's finally another TV shounen ai show it has to suck this much. music and animation are the usual low budjet but they could've been easily forgiven had they got a descent story. instead, there's an idiotic, flat, unsolid, annoying characters, the most boring settings, with no new ideas what so ever, no plot or meaning until episode 12 (out of 13) which then makes up a very uninteresting side story, very dull. the episodes' stories and ideas were so silly all i thought was "who cares??" and wait for the episode to finish. i was not amused one bit, the only reason i watched the whole thing was to see if it goes anywhere, by the time i realized episode 8 still has no goal i knew it's done for but i kept going and now i don't know what makes bothers me more - the fact i watched it all or the fact it was even made. not recommended at all, a shame for the shounen ai genre, i have simply no idea why was it licensed for an American release. hoping for a better shounen ai next time, till then i'll rewatch sukisho again. :D

Worst gay anime ever
Irishchatter9 March 2018
You know, I've seen so much good gay anime but then I had to run to this pointless crap. I really thought like the other gay anime Ive seen that this was gonna be good but instead, it was boriing and just dull with each episode. There's nothing interesting about the characters especially the main ones. I thought I could prove the ones who reviewed this bad wrong, but unfortunately they were right this time so yeah very dissapointed. I would love to give this 0 seriously instead of one!

Gakuen Heaven Is Awesome!

I don't know what anime the previous commenter watched, but I don't see how it could have been Gakuen Heaven! This is quintessential Shonen Ai, and I haven't seen anything to compare to it in a LONG TIME. Although I liked Sukisho, this anime has so many more bishonen that are each developed, the emotional pull of the characters is very strong, and the storyline is interesting and supported all the way until the end of the anime. Add to that a wonderful opening theme song and the cute "Ham-Ham Heaven" previews, you have something that you will want to watch over and over again. I know that I have. To think that it came from a video game just impresses me even more with how good all of the characters are and how much plot there really is to the anime. No, it is not as graphic as the manga, but it doesn't have to be. The ending is just perfect, and the only reason I didn't give it a 10 is that I wish there was more!

I thought it was sweet

I've heard a lot of flack about this series, but I personally don't understand it.

This series is boy-love, and it has all the best that genre can offer. A cast of yummy boys, a love story, and drama. Also angst, mustn't forget that part. ^_^ After only the first episode you find yourself rooting for the hero, Ito Keita, cheering him on as he makes new friends; and booing at the people who are unkind to him.

With all these cute guys clamoring for his attention, whats a boy to do? I heartily recommend this anime to any fans of the shonen-ai genre, and hope you have as much fun as I did.

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this series a lot. The beginning of the series started off. But I didn't like the ending where the doctor went and grabbed the main character and almost killed him over the fact he had the same sickness as a child like someone else who knew that was in the hospital. I did like the part when the dude in the hospital come out of the coma and the part where the two main guys ended up kissing.I liked how the school had all guys in it. All of the guys had great character development. I wish the show was longer so it could show off more of what the guys were like. But for the length it was it was really good. The animation style was pretty and well done. The script, story line and plot for the most part was great. The two guys that kiss in the series had great chemistry together.
