STAR RATING: ***** Saturday Night **** Friday Night *** Friday Morning ** Sunday Night * Monday Morning
Dillon (James Remar) is a burnt out Black Ops soldier who has had enough and simply wants to retire. Needless to say, old acquaintance Flick (Mario Van Peebles) comes along with the obligatory 'one last assignment', to spy on and eventually take out a notorious arms dealer who's got a spacious home in the back of the woods in a small, quiet US town. Getting a little old and creaky, Dillon makes some mistakes but manages the job anyway...but soon finds he can trust no one.
I had no idea this had been meant as a TV movie, but I suppose the production values were rather telling. We don't have the most interesting or original of stories here, and unfortunately are also saddled with a deadly lack of any exciting action. Things do heat up a bit at the end, but don't expect a none stop action thrill ride here. Remar's character is fairly interesting, but with this as your main recommendation, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. **
