Starring: Marc Wasserman ,Nicole Oring & Tom Sizemore. 'Commute' is an
jaw-dropping piece of film.
Watching Wasserman do a monologue while trapped in traffic starts off daunting and then you realize,He is Us and We is Him behind the wheel.
Thinking of cast he does have Porn Star Nicole Oring(Yes,she plies her trade here too) as his secretary and Film Celeb Tom Sizemore in cameo .
All the subjects he monologues have bearing on our lives and "We Have Been There and Have Done That" too ! Great film and to think Ford Austin was involved , "Is a hoot' . Score card: Filming in real time traffic= 10 points. Dream sequence= 10 points Extras at end = 10 points. GETTING Tom Sizemore = 20 points
I recently saw The Commute at the Bare Bones Film Festival where it won the audience award for Best Feature Comedy. Entertaining from start to finish. Although there are several characters in the film, it really centers around the commuter played by Marc Wasserman. Most of the action takes place in the car where Marc Wasserman gives a continuously escalating and increasingly frenetic comical rant reminiscent of Spalding Gray's "Swimming to Cambodia", only the topic here is the insanity of the daily commute to and from work. Wasserman's rant is hysterical and true to life. Although there are great intercuts to an obnoxious traffic helicopter reporter, a client waiting at his office, fantasies about his secretary, etc...It is basically an innerlife monologue about the absurdity of the daily commute. Not an easy topic to make funny but Wasserman pulls it off beautifully.
