The Evil Manta's Third Appearance, 24 September 2009

I really like this episode. The animation is lovely, and the music is just beautiful. There is also some nice dialogue. If anything, I would have liked to have seen a little more of Sebastian, otherwise the episode is perfect, and just about right in length. The basic plot is about Ariel being tricked by Moray the Eel into getting a glow shell for her father, and Urchin has to get the trident to save her and Flounder from an octopus. But Moray steals it, and it falls into the hands of the Evil Manta. Can Ariel and Urchin get it back in time? The voice acting is exceptional, Jodi Benson we know is a talented voice actress, and Tim Curry is a joy to behold as the Evil Manta. Speaking of the characters, I like the fact Ariel is more sympathetic here, and Moray is fairly entertaining even if you don't trust him at all. Just to warn you, the last minute or so is very funny, I won't spoil it for you, other than to say it's to do with a squid pen. 9/10 Bethany Cox
