New Poster for Rush and Ron Howard Discusses the Film

24 April 2013 11:40 AM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Director Ron Howard's new Formula One movie Rush looks like an intense movie. It tells the true story of the Formula One racing rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda in 1976. Here's a new poster that's been released for it featuring Chris Hemsworth as Hunt.

In a recent interview with EW, Howard talked about the filming process saying,

People ask what has Rush been like and I say from a filmmaking standpoint it’s been kind of like a cross between Apollo 13 and Backdraft. In the case of Apollo 13, that’s for the complexity and the authenticity and the intent to capture an era and an endeavor that blends technology, action and danger.

But, then speaking of danger, it reminds me of Backdraft because those fires scared me and so did shooting racing action in this film. I was happy when we wrapped Backdraft and frankly it »

Reader Spotlight: Lucio in Argentina

15 April 2013 4:00 AM, PDT | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

We're getting to know The Film Experience community. Today we're talking to Lucio in Argentina.

When did you start reading Tfe?

Lucio: I started reading in early 2004 after I began to get crazy about the Academy Awards, so I looked up for some sites in order to help me to predict them. I remember reading about the Shohreh vs. Renée battle here. I was glad when Renée finally won the Oscar but my relationship with the website became closer over the years.

Your three favorite actresses

Lucio: Meryl Streep: She can do anything, no matter what. Kate Winslet: she is a great dramatic actress. Made me cry in The Reader, smile in Eternal Sunshine and think in Revolutionary Road; Nicole Kidman: The Hours… probably the Best Performance by an Actress in History. “Always the years between us, always the love…always the hours”. Brilliant!

How often do you go to the movies? »

Here's a new domestic theatrical trailer for Ron Howard's intense looking Formula One racing film Rush, which stars Chris HemsworthOlivia Wilde, and Daniel Brühl. I'm not really that familiar with Formula One racing, but I do know it's the biggest sport in the world, and this looks like it's going to be a hell of a good movie. It tells the true story of the rivalry between drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda in 1976. Howard is a terrific director who has a solid track record, and this looks like it could be one of his better films.
