Storyline

Carly hosts her own home-grown web show, iCarly. She lives with her twenty-something brother/guardian Spencer and produces her Web casts from a makeshift third-floor loft studio. Grappling with adolescence, she never aimed to gain fame as a rising star/underground celebrity to kids. As events unfold in the pilot, it all happens by accident when a teacher puts her in charge of the school talent show. She and her sassy best bud Sam turn the audition process into a show, which Carly's tech savvy smitten friend Freddie tapes - including their hilarious banter and great chemistry - and posts on the Web without telling the girls. The on-line audience clamors for more, and a pop phenomenon blooms, with Carly and sidekick Sam's regular Web casts ultimately featuring everything from comedy sketches and talent contests to interviews, recipes, and problem-solving. Trivia

In a few episodes, Carly makes "special lemonade" that nobody likes to drink. This was written into the show because on Drake & Josh, another Dan Schneider show, Josh Peck's character would make Limeaide that nobody liked to drink. See more »

Goofs

In some episodes the iCarly-crew is broadcasting the web show live from places without any internet connection, where it would be impossible to broadcast a web show with the equipment, that is showed in the series, like a supply cabinet in school or an old castle. They need an broadband internet connection for video and audio. And a wireless connection would not take that much signals and send it in real-time. See more »

My daughter loves this show....and okay, iDo too.
11 May 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

There is not a lot out there that a guy my age can watch with his 11 year old daughter. Most of prime time network TV is way too adult themed to feel good about letting her watch, and many of the kid shows are just too annoying for my tastes. Along comes iCarly, a show my daughter and I have watched from the beginning. The show is definitely aimed at kids, but there are enough funny moments (often provided by Spencer, played by Jerry Trainor) to keep me interested as well. All of the four main characters (Carly, Sam, Freddy and Spencer) are likable and have good chemistry. You get the feeling that they like each other off the set as well. As the first season is coming to an end, I can only hope they'll continue making more. I recommend this for any Dad (who has a sense of humor and still knows how to be a kid once in a while) to watch with his kid(s).
