Gonch and Mandy's dating service has hit a snag when it matches Robbie with Calley, a relationship which so recently came to a bitter end. Mr. Bronson has a new look - without his wig ("syrup of figs", as Trevor puts it). At work experience, Helen cuts her finger when the young man in charge of her doesn't find her protective gloves. In the canteen, Neil bad-mouths Helen and Mauler, and gets a faceful of food for his reward. Mauler gets the sack for his revenge, but Helen gets a better job to do on the factory floor. Justine's idea to get her mother to adopt Tegs goes awry when her sister makes an objection. After dark, Gonch and Robbie come back to school as a dare from Trevor, but are met by Mr Griffiths who has laid traps of his own to find out who is staying in the school at night. Inside, they also find Mauler and Ted. After some false alarms, Mr. Griffiths finds his gaffer tape traps across the window have been broken.
