This is Ridikolus...ly funny, 14 October 2008

After an appetizer in Jack-Tor, now we get the full course of 30 Rock's humorous take on the subject of racism. Once again, Tracy Jordan is partially involved. Once again, that's not good news.

First of all, Tracy invites Liz to an "after-after-after" party. There, she meets an African- American named Steven Black (Wayne Davis) and accepts to have dinner with him. Tracy himself, in the meantime, gets in trouble with rapper Ridikolus (LL Cool J) after Kenneth refused to let the latter in at a party in honor of the crazy comedian. In addition, Jack receives the first wine bottle made in his own vineyard. Only problem: it's disgusting.

The episode works by indulging certain stereotypes (Ridikolus' characterization), subverting others (the awkward dinner) and exaggerating the rest (Tracy playing Oprah). The result is a fine combination of cracking dialogue and worthy guest performances (when was the last time LL Cool J was actually this good?) which fit in seamlessly with the established cast (Morgan and Baldwin in particular). Once again, a delight from start to finish.
