Fun in the sun...

Live from Tampa, FL

Your commentators are Vince McMahon, Jessie Ventura & Bobby Heenan

Hulk Hogan gets Gene Okerlund pumped up with his special protein drink. Jessie Ventura and Roddy Piper make fun of Hillbilly Jim and his crew.

'Rowdy' Roddy Piper, Jessie 'The Body' Ventura & 'Cowboy' Bob Orton Vs Hillbilly Jim, Uncle Elmer & Cousin Luke

Piper's team wins after Piper takes advantage of Orton nailing Cousin Luke with his cast. This was OK for a comedy match. It was fun to see Ventura in the ring. I haven't seen him wrestle that much. It's amazing what people would cheer for in the 80's.

*1/2 out of 5

The Junkyard Dog gets a two second head start and beats Jimmy Hart in a water slide contest. Terry Funk calls Hulk Hogan an overrated, blonde blowhard. He wants to be on Sports Illustrated after he beats Hogan tonight.

WWF Championship

Hulk Hogan (C) (W/The Junkyard Dog) Vs Terry Funk (W/Jimmy Hart)

Hogan is wearing blue trunks. I know Hulkamania was just starting to get wild, but that's bizarre to see. Hogan wins with a running clothesline. This was a fairly entertaining bout. Funk was made to look strong in defeat and they had solid chemistry.

**3/4 out of 5

Randy Savage throws Elizabeth off a ledge into a pool. Jerk! George 'The Animal' Steele fawns over Elizabeth and tries to get him some. Can't blame the guy!

'Macho Man' Randy Savage Vs George 'The Animal' Steele

Savage wins with a double axe handle off the top. Not even Savage could carry Steele to a decent match. I hated this feud. Not everything in the golden era was good.

3/4* out of 5

We get a video tribute to the year of 1985.

Peace Match

Nikolai Volkoff Vs Cpl. Kirchner

Volkoff wins after a knee to the head. This was a hard match to rate. It was mainly clean break after clean break. They played nice with each other until the end when Volkoff broke the rule.

Mr. Fuji cuts a very controversial promo about frying and eating dogs. That would NEVER fly today. They would be all over that like white on rice.

'The Magnificent' Muraco & Mr. Fuji Vs Ricky 'The Dragon' Steambot & The Junkyard Dog

Steaboat and JYD win after JYD pins Fuji with a headbutt. This was a pretty mediocre main event. There was too much JYD and not enough Steamboat. Fuji was the right (and obvious) man to take the pin.

Overall, this was alright. It had its moments, but it's mostly a forgettable show.
