Saw the world premier with the cast and crew in attendance. Brian Cox said afterward he was stunned by it as he had not yet seen the movie.
Really solid film. Not going to post a full review, but I was impressed. Brian Cox owns the screen; basically a man in jail for life who is broken; but when he finds out his daughter is about to die, he enlists the help of anybody he calls a "friend" to help him. It cuts back and forth between the actual escape and the events leading up to it, the planning and such. The best part about the film
is the existential metaphor it has; it works as a prison break movie and as something deeper. The director said he wanted to recreate the great iconic hero movies of the 70's, even the end credits are in homage to them. Great acting throughout. I hope it gets picked up, it could get some good word of mouth and have a small and successful theatrical release in the spring or early fall. It starts a little slow; but the momentum builds and the two parallel story lines merge in a memorable finale. 8/10
