"Final Engagement" features poor writing, bad acting, pointless plot, and mediocre cinematography. The writing is boring and predictable. The characters are flat, uninteresting and confused. Visually, the film is no more inspired than a news reel. Some parts are nothing short of stupid, although it occasionally reaches for the stars, it fails to achieve any height. It's really quite sad. It tries to be gritty and street-wise, but just comes off as silly, amateur punk-play. I've seen student films that are better than this. The most appealing part of this film is that it has an end. If you are looking for a good film, look elsewhere. If you must watch it, watch it with a critic's eye, and learn what bad film- making is like. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time.
