Lucille mentions the Medal of Honor. The correct name is the Legion of Honour. The Legion of Honour is awarded to both military personnel and civilians for their merit. The Medal of Honor is an American decoration and is only awarded to military personnel.
Although the story is set in 1910, the Mayor of Paris is featured. The office of Mayor of Paris was suppressed in 1871, after the 'Commune', and was not restored until 1977.
In the newsreel at the beginning of the film, you see the footage that he has shot of Lucille. This has two errors:
1. As new footage, it should not have the numerous artifacts (evidence of worn and old film) that are displayed, but should be relatively pristine.
2. The year is 1910, yet he imagines that the footage he takes records Lucille talking. Synchronized sound in film would not appear until the early to mid 1920's.
