Are your kids Bing fans, or more partial to Sarah & Duck? We count down a dozen of CBeebies' finest...

There’s arguably no more important television than children’s television. Sure, you could be one of those parents who doesn’t let their child anywhere near a screen – but chances are, if you’re the kind of person to read Den of Geek, the idea of doing so would utterly horrify you.

Besides, children can learn so much from watching television – not as a substitute for actual parenting or schooling, of course, but as an addition to it. It can be damaging to rely solely on it, to park them in front of it for several hours a day – but in healthy doses,

Dolly Parton's bedtime story could be CBeebies' greatest hit

The singer is the latest megastar to read a book at bedtime on CBeebies – and the show is drawing a whole new audience of grownups. So who is behind all the big name bookings?

For years, the CBeebies Bedtime Story was a secret known only by parents of the very young. Every day, the final hour of the channel’s programming would gradually wind down, its DayGlo thud replaced by something more muted before the final send-off – a friendly face from the telly reading a hushed recital of a children’s book. Bedtime Stories was a long, shallow glide to the runway. Tonally, it was perfect.

But now everyone’s in on it. Pound for pound, Bedtime Stories might be the most star-studded programme the BBC makes. Chris Evans has read some stories. James McAvoy has read some. Simon Pegg, Rosamund Pike, David Hasselhoff, Josh Homme. Tonight’s Bedtime Story hits another new high,

Sex, Drugs & Comedy: How Eric Wareheim Became a Hedonistic Alt-Comic Legend
A few years ago, Eric Wareheim took a photo of his then-girlfriend's naked ass and sent it to an ice sculptor. Wareheim likes to throw raucous house parties "based on different parts of anatomy," he says. "I did one called Black Cock ck light and penis-themed]. Another one was Laser Boobs." The sculptor took Wareheim's photo and used it to carve an enormous ice butt, which became the centerpiece of an ass-focused party called Snow Booty. The sculpture had a canal carved into it that served as a conduit for booze, with its lower opening at the butt hole.

Absurdist comedians Tim and Eric: 'Our show is a trainwreck of a live experience'

The comedy duo recently celebrated the ten-year anniversary of their cult show and talk about finding the funny in the mundane and how they met

For almost two decades now, comedy duo Tim (Heidecker) and Eric (Wareheim) have honed their absurdist and often gross sketch comedy. After a summer of touring and the recent 10th anniversary special of The Awesome Show, they’ve become the kings of out-there alternative comedy, by way of mock infomercials, situational humor, and the occasional song-and-dance routine. The second season of Bedtime Stories, their mock-horror after-hours series on Adult Swim, returns this month to magnify the humdrum tropes of suburban American life, cementing the duo as two of comedy’s most amusing satirists.

It’s not hard to see how Ryan Murphy arrived at his premise for “Ahs” Season 7. To say that many Americans have been living out their own personal horror story isn’t an overstatement — not with border closings, hate speech, and potential treason all enabled by the White House — but the new season manages to undermine the left’s legitimate fears and amplify the right’s monstrous traits all in one frenzied mess of an allegory.

‘Funny People’ Is An Underrated Masterpiece, And Adam Sandler’s Latest Misfires Make It Even Better

‘Funny People’ Is An Underrated Masterpiece, And Adam Sandler’s Latest Misfires Make It Even Better
I’ve watched “Funny People” more times than I care to count (fun fact: Judd Apatow movies comprise roughly 40% of all cable television programming), but it never occurred to me that Apatow’s raw, shaggy, desperate masterpiece of a third feature was inspired by “The Great Gatsby.” For some reason, I didn’t automatically make the connection between The Great American Novel and a studio comedy in which Adam Sandler has sex with a stranger while pretending to be a Merman. But someone recently pointed out the parallel, and — like a Magic Eye stereogram or that bump on Jean-Claude Van Damme’s forehead — it’s the kind of thing that you can’t un-see.

Ira Wright (Seth Rogen) is our new Nick Carraway, an aspiring L.A. comedian who forms an unlikely relationship with a lonely, enigmatic, semi-reclusive titan of his industry. George Simmons (Adam Sandler) is our Gatsby, a

Gifted review: Dir. Marc Webb (2017)

Gifted review: Chris Evans leads the cast of this endearing drama; a pleasing and enjoyable movie from director Marc Webb.

Gifted review by Andrew Gaudion.

Gifted review

It is hard to disassociate actors from certain roles that they have played, but it is particularly hard to with actors who play superheroes. That is very much the case with Chris Evans, an actor whose social media presence and subsequent choice of roles since playing Captain America (bar his turn in The Iceman) seem designed to cultivate an earnest, good-natured man always trying to do the right thing, even if he’s not always wearing red, white and blue. That argument is certainly evident in his latest Indie-flick, Gifted, a film which positions Evans once again as a figure with a strong and noble moral compass. And it is as endearing as the man himself.

Evans plays Frank, a single boat repairman

Are Comedies In Peril On The Big Screen & Headed To Streaming? Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler & ‘Meyerowitz’ Cast Sound Off – Cannes
In 2008, seven comedy releases ultimately crossed the $100 million threshold. Ben Stiller had one of those titles that he starred in and directed, Tropic Thunder ($110.5 million), and Adam Sandler had two in the summer comedy You Don’t Mess With The Zohan ($100M) and the family comedy Bedtime Stories ($110M). Last year, only three comedies crossed the century mark at the domestic B.O. — Ghostbusters, Central Intelligence and Bad Moms — with 2015 faring no better with…
