Aquaman In An Eyepatch!
6 January 2013 | by See all my reviews

In the opening credits, Superman is seen dropping a boulder on an active Vesuvius. That scene is from this episode, Universe of Evil, in which there is an evil Superfriends group, complete with their Hall of Evil (you wonder how the law enforcement could let them get away with anything if they know where their hideout is).

Superman is switched with his doppleganger at the volcano and each Superman must contend with his former allies now being opponents.

Superman is befriended by a young scientist (voiced by Vernee Watson, if I'm not mistaken) and he promises her he will return with his other Superfriends to help out.

The episode ends with Superman informing the other Superfriends of that promise.

I anxiously awaited that continuation and it was never to be.

No continuation was ever set into motion, it seems. I was very disappointed. I would have loved the evil Superfriends, with Superman in black and Batman in red, fighting the good Superfriends.

Even still, this is one of my favorite episodes because of the evil versions.
