Larry Baker and his vainglorious wife Margaret plan to steal the $200,000 Mohar Gem Collection. They abduct courier Larew Merced from his room and imprison him in a car trunk after they learn that he does not have the gems in his possession. They learn from Merced's papers that a "package" is waiting for him at the railway express office. The manager of the Sunset Motel reports the abduction and Dan Mathews and Sergeant Williams learn of the package themselves when they search Merced's room. They stake out the express office and watch as Baker impersonates Merced to claim the package. They follow at a safe distance, waiting patiently for the right moment to arrest the Bakers and rescue the injured Merced. Written by Sam Spear

Did You Know?

The portion of the program before the credits has scenes from the program. This time, the scene in the motel room where the wife points the pistol at the two men who are fighting over the gun was cut out of the regular program. Instead, the husband is heard to say "Oh no, don't shoot, hit him, hit him!" as the manager is walking by the room. See more »

After leaving the express depot with the package, the criminals have a huge lead on Williams & Matthews, yet the officers are able to follow them even though they make several turns where the highway patrol car either cannot be seen or arrives too late to see which way they turned. This is very apparent on the street where they live, as the highway patrol car arrives 35 seconds later and from another street. It turns right towards their home when it could have gone straight or left. See more »

Chief Dan Mathews: [on the telephone] Did you see the woman hit the guy with the pistol?
Motel Manager: [in a phone booth] Yes. He went down like a sack of flour.
