Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger may have had some problems on the tracks going through production, but everything we’ve seen from the film so far suggests that the blockbuster has long since put those troubles behind it, and we’re expecting great things when it hits this summer.
With only a month and a half to go before the film hits the big screen, Disney have debuted a great new trailer over on Apple, giving us another flavour for the action and adventure we have coming our way soon.
Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice–taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

At 11 years old, Ty Simpkins already has quite a few credits on his resume. Simpkins has been in movies since he was barely 3 months old, and has roles in flicks such as Insidious, The Next Three Days, and Little Children. Maybe even more interesting is how many times he's been cast in films with his real life sister Ryan Simpkins - they play siblings in Revolutionary Road, Pride and Glory and Arcadia, among others.
But for Iron Man 3, Ty's first action movie, he goes it alone. Ty plays Harley Keener, an intelligent kid who has a run-in with Iron Man and actually helps him save the day.
Ty's favorite part of working on Iron Man 3 was being able to spend time with its star Robert Downey Jr. "Robert's really fun to work with. He's a really nice guy."
Like many kids his age, Ty is a huge Iron Man fan. »

Ty Simpkins currently stars as the young boy who gives a helping hand - and a hard time - to Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark in Iron Man 3, but there is much more to the New York City native, who has been acting since he was 3 months old. Simpkins, 11, has already starred on two different daytime soaps (One Life to Live and Guiding Light), worked with Oscar winner Kate Winslet on three movies (All the Kings Men, Little Children and Revolutionary Road) and become the face of a new horror franchise (Insidious and Insidious: Chapter 2, expected later this year). But at heart, »

Leonardo DiCaprio The Great Gatsby movie box office: DiCaprio’s second biggest opening ever — but trailing Titanic in ticket sales The Great Gatsby movie adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel earned $50.08m at the North American box office this past weekend, including $3.25 million from late Thursday night showings, according to weekend box-office actuals found at Box Office Mojo. Despite mostly poor reviews — The Great Gatsby has a 32% approval rating and 5.6/10 average among Rotten Tomatoes‘ top critics — the Baz Luhrmann-directed take on the love story between Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jay Gatsby and Carey Mulligan’s Daisy Buchanan far surpassed the expectations of both distributor Warner Bros. and box-office pundits. In fact, The Great Gatsby trailed only Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man 3, which collected $72.52 million at the domestic box office this past weekend. (Photo: Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby.) London — In the run-up to Cannes, Lionsgate UK has picked up six British pics, including Peter Capaldi’s comedy “Born to be King,” which toplines Kate Hudson and Ewan McGregor.
“King” is about a film extra who bears a striking resemblance to a movie star.
Lionsgate also acquired “Locke,” which is penned-helmed by Steven Knight (“Dirty Pretty Things”), and stars Tom Hardy and Tom Holland. The film is about one man’s life unravelling in a tension-fuelled 90 minute race against time. Paul Webster and Guy Heeley produce.
Another pickup is Daniel Radcliffe-starrer “Horns,” which was adapted by Keith Bunin from Joe Hill’s novel. Alexandre Aja (“Piranha 3D”) helms. Radcliffe plays a young man who awakens to strange horns sprouting from his temples following his girlfriend’s mysterious death.

Leonardo DiCaprio The Great Gatsby movie weekend box office: DiCaprio’s second biggest opening ever? (Photo: Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby, with Carey Mulligan) Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Jay Gatsby in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby movie adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic 1920s novel. A risky move? Well, if so, it has clearly paid off. Although The Great Gatsby will not top the North American box office this weekend, it’ll land in a remarkably (and surprisingly) strong second slot. (Photo: Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby movie adaptation, with Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan.) Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man 3 will easily lead the domestic box-office charge with approximately $65-70m, after plummeting 71% on Friday, compared to the previous week. True, opening-day Friday also included the box-office take from Thursday late night showings, but, for comparison’s sake, The Avengers was down 64% during that same time frame. »

Ty Simpkins has already worked with Stephen Spielberg and Tom Cruise in War of the World. Four years later he had a featured role in Revolutionary Road and worked with Sam Mendes, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. That's two Oscar-winning directors, an Oscar winning actress and two of the biggest stars in the world. He also starred in the 2010 hit film Insidious will be featured in the sequel, and as I'm writing this he's appearing in the worldwide smash, Iron Man 3 with Robert Downey Jr. With a resume like that he could probably call it career, axcept for the fact Ty is 1-years-old and about four decades shy of getting his Aarp card. If you've seen Iron Man 3, you probably remember Ty and his work with Downey. In my mind, and in the the minds of several critics, the portion of the film where Ty appears with Downey »

With "Iron Man 3" dominating the box office, young actor Ty Simpkins is being introduced to a global audience. At 11 years old, he's not a new face though. Simpkins got his start at three weeks old with a role on "One Life to Live." Since then he's made the jump to movies, appearing in "Little Children," "Revolutionary Road," and starring in the thriller "Insidious."
"Iron Man 3" is a bit of a change for Ty, as he plays the role of Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) sidekick in the movie. Zap2it had a chance to sit down with Simpkins to talk about his time on the set, what's next and more.

For those of us who used to plaster our bedroom walls with Leo posters, this weekend's The Great Gatsby is a sad reminder that we're now past our poster-hanging prime, but it's also a happy reminder that Leonardo DiCaprio's face is still quite special. (Say what you will about how it's getting wider with age — we're not listening.) So special, in fact, that we were compelled to rewatch a bunch of Leo movies and make a series of Tiger Beat collages displaying his six most common acting tics — five faces and one very sturdy finger. The Lion-Roar Scream 1. Romeo + Juliet 2. Body of Lies 3. Celebrity 4. Blood Diamond 5. The Great Gatsby 6. This Boy's Life 7. The Beach 8. Revolutionary Road The Heavy-Thoughts Brow 1. Titanic 2. Shutter Island 3. Leonardo DiCaprio's career has been pretty on point — you don't get to be Martin Scorsese's little muse by phoning in the rom-coms, ya dig? — but so far, he's been three for three no whammy when it comes to the Academy.
"The Great Gatsby" director Baz Lurhmann has spoken on the lack of gold statuettes upon his dear Romeo's nightstand and clearly agrees it's a grave Hollywood injustice which probably needs to be cured soon ... hint, hint.
Luhrmann told ComingSoon that he totally "agree[s]" with being shocked over DiCaprio's no-win situation.
"I'll tell you something else," Luhrmann said, "I don't think he's stepped off the mark in his life. What I mean is, if you have that much fame and if you have that much success, usually by now you're a nutcase. Usually, you're a legend, but you're also crazy. Because he's surrounded by… he's got continuity. When he »

Leonardo DiCaprio stars in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming adaptation of "The Great Gatsby," which gives audiences yet another serving of DiCaprio's signature move: loud and often uncontrolled yelling.
Whether playing the king of the world, an overzealous pilot in the throes of agony or an inexorable slaveowner, it seems that DiCaprio is sure to throw in a few aggressive shouts. Enjoy the supercut above (be warned: it contains some Nsfw language) and let us know in the comment section which scream should rule them all. (Use the list below as a reference.)

Chronicling the complicated balance between work and family that prolific real life contract killer Richard Kuklinski carried on for decades, The Iceman paralyzes the audience purely with Michael Shannon’s unrelentingly intense performance. When cloaked in silence his unnerving stare speaks volumes more than any of the periphery characters who happen to drift in and out of scenes around him. He is a force of terror and subtle affection to behold. While Kuklinski claimed to have murdered over 100 people, the far more remarkable part of his story is how vehemently he insulated his family from his criminal underworld and true nature. Director Ariel Vromen conveys here how he didn’t use them as a cover but as emotional security against the monstrous people he was in business with, people seemingly less monstrous than himself. Michael Shannon is the real deal. He is one of the best actors working today and always seems to challenge himself in each and every role. From his work in Bug, Shotgun Stories, Revolutionary Road and Take Shelter, the man has proven continuously what a talent he is. The same can be said for his latest, a tour-de-force as the real life Mafia hit man Richard Kuklinski in The Iceman. His performance in the film is absolutely mesmerizing. The last thing you expect to hear when you're heading to interview Michael Shannon, the intense actor from "Boardwalk Empire," "Premium Rush," and "Revolutionary Road," is his singing. This is especially true given the movie we're here to talk about: "The Iceman," a grim, based-on-real-life thriller about Richard Kuklinski, a mafia-affiliated hitman who claimed to have murdered dozens of people in his career. (His story was infamously chronicled in two "Iceman" HBO documentaries that aired in 1991 and 2001.) It turns out that Shannon had been up until 6 a.m. (you read that right) the night before, and was feeling agreeably loopy. During much of the interview, the actor was trying to free a pair of gummy bears that had been lodged at the bottom of a tiny glass jar. At one point, he got up to get a spoon so that the gummy bears could finally be his. All this made »
