A satisfying conclusion to the "Adrift" arc
22 October 2007 | by (England) – See all my reviews

"Lifeline" concludes the "Adrift" plot-arc in a satisfying manner. There's action galore for the "Atlantis" crew and a genuine sense of danger as they face the replicator threat once again.

Joe Flanigan's a very watchable action hero and David Hewlett is perfectly cast as the ever-nervous Rodney McKay. As usual, it boils down to McKay's quick thinking to come up with solutions to various threats and it's always a pleasure to see McKay's procrastinations as he faces life-or-death situations.

This is an important episode in the series and sets the scene for the fourth season. The production values are excellent although, if I'm being picky, some of the CGI shots weren't up to the usual high standards. This is a minor aside - at the end of the day, "Atlantis" remains must-see science fiction and one of the best programmes on the small screen for fans of the genre.
