Is Someone New Writing These Now?, 8 October 2007
6/10
Author: ccthemovieman-1 from Lockport, NY, United States

I guess it WAS too good to be true. The first half dozen episodes were great stories with little soap opera: everyone on the up-and-up and the program featured solid, no-nonsense material. Lately, I can see a big turn downward, with Liberal politics liberal sex dragging the show slowly down the tubes, turning into a typical one of today. "The Unit" looked like it had risen above the fray, but not now. It ends with several members of the show, for no real reason, having sex and/or getting near that with relationships they shouldn't get in. It's discouraging for someone who likes this show and hoped for better.

The Unit is in Iran, but almost all of the story is told in flashback after the guys have returned. A local Iranian "helping" the mission gets a little too gung-ho and the results are seen immediately as the crew, along with a sharp Iran woman, are all now in danger of being caught sabotaging a potential nuclear facility. The drama is what to do with the woman, who gets trapped under an immovable weight and Mack does not want to leave her behind.

The other stories aren't worth mentioning, just pitiful material, like the immature Crystal not showing up at the hospital to see her badly-wounded husband.

Also, once again, The Unit has to explain its actions. Some General is not only a "Nervous Nellie" but also very unprofessional in grilling the guys about what happened in Iran. His character is exaggerated and is ridiculous. It almost looks like someone else has begun writing these episodes the past month.
