Martha runs through a creek and the bottom of her skirt is wet. A minute later when she returns to the hideout, the skirt is dry.
Carter uses the term turnpike (toll road) when he tells Charlie to check the road for any police activity. Ohio has a turnpike, California does not, so it would be understandable for Carter or Charlie to use that term since they were from Ohio. However, in a subsequent scene, Mathews uses the term when setting up roadblocks.
Mathews tells the dispatcher to teletype the Ohio state police. Ohio has no state police. Instead, like California, it has a highway patrol, which was founded in 1933.
