The Bounder so far is very much like a farce. Relying on Peter Bowles to keep the plates spinning.
On this episode, he is trying to write a romantic potboiler.
Trevor knows that Howard cannot write but Mary disagrees.
She mistakenly thinks that a poem from Byron was written by her brother. Howard does not bother to correct her.
Later Howard plans to put his claws on wealthy widow Laura and he tells her that he is a famous author.
When Laura realises that Howard is not the crime author Quincey Brown. Howard just keeps the masquerade going.
I like to think that before they died, both Peter Bowles and Eric Chappell looked at some of the mendacious politicians on both sides of the Atlantic and had a good chuckle.
Howard seems to have been ahead of his time!
