Nights in Rodanthe (2008) Poster

Trivia

As of 2013 the house has been renamed "The Inn at Rodanthe" and completely refurbished to more closely resemble the interior movie scenes which were filmed elsewhere in North Carolina. Sun Realty manages the property and has extensive photographs of the interior, particularly the blue bedroom Richard Gere's character stays in while visiting. The unique shutter doors into the kitchen have also been recreated as have the various shutters, porches, and exterior details.
The house in which the movie is set is a vacation rental property, not a bed & breakfast, and is named "Serendipity".
By January, 2010, shoreline erosion had left the Serendipity house completely in the surf. New owners hired one of the companies that moved the Cape Hatteras lighthouse to move Serendipity to a somewhat less spectacular but somewhat safer nearby lot in Rodanthe. Only the house's exterior appears in the film - the interiors existed only in a studio. The owners reportedly plan to remodel the house, recreating the studio interiors, to enhance its value as a vacation rental.
The rental home Serendipity was damaged and condemned after a Noreaster in November 2009.
