Which Nicholas Sparks Guy Is Your Favorite?

11 July 2014 11:40 AM, PDT | BuzzSugar | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Think back to all your teenage crushes. Most of them probably won you over in Nicholas Sparks movies. From bad-boy-turned-epic-love Shane West in A Walk to Remember to Ryan Gosling and his Notebook kisses in the rain, these characters know how to steal your heart. The question is whether you're into war veterans like Zac Efron in The Lucky One or Channing Tatum in Dear John or more about beachside loves like Liam Hemsworth in The Last Song or Josh Duhamel in Safe Haven. Or are you perhaps partial to silver fox Richard Gere in Nights in Rodanthe? And there are two others who have yet to debut on the big screen that you could love too: James Marsden's scruffy character in the upcoming Best of Me and Scott Eastwood's mysterious one in The Longest Ride. It's a tough call, but vote for your favorite Nicholas Sparks stud below. »

10 June 2014 1:46 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Lionsgate has acquired the North American and U.K. distribution rights to the movie adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ novel “The Choice.”

The project, which has not yet signed a director or cast, is the second that Sparks has set up at his 2-year-old production company. The author has seen eight of his novels turned into films starting with “Message in a Bottle” in 1999, followed by “A Walk to Remember,” “The Notebook,” “Nights in Rodanthe,” “Dear John,” “The Last Song,” “The Lucky One” and “Safe Haven.”

“The Choice” will be produced and financed by Sparks and Theresa Park with Peter Safran. The project, from Nicholas Sparks Productions, is slated to begin shooting in the fall.

“The Choice,” published in 2007, tells the story of a man and a woman who meet first as neighbors in a small coastal town in North Carolina and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen. »

Oscar Bait: 'You're Not You' with Hilary Swank coming to theaters this year

8 April 2014 5:40 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Let's dust off the old part-time specialty feature "Oscar Bait" with some news on an acquisition, shall we? Now, this time last year a lot of eyes were turned toward Naomi Watts in what seemed like a baity role as Princess Diana in "Diana." Then the film waited for a distributor, and waited, and waited. The writing was on the wall by the time Entertainment One grabbed it and it went nowhere with critics, audiences and, certainly, awards-voting bodies. This year, the upstart distributor has another play that may or may not work out on the circuit, "You're Not You" starring two-time Best Actress Oscar winner Hilary Swank. Emmy Rossum, Josh Duhamel, Loretta Divine, Ernie Hudson and Marcia Gay Harden also star. Here's the official synopsis: "'You're Not You' centers on the relationship between Kate (Swank), a woman who has been immobilized by Als - also known as »

Nicholas Sparks Limited Edition DVD Collection Review And Giveaway

3 April 2014 1:16 PM, PDT | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

The Nicholas Sparks Limited Edition DVD Collection is another of those set releases that is the best and worst of all possible worlds. Serious fans are going to be happy to get collectible postcards, and a “personal letter from Nicholas Sparks,” but they already own the movies, and the discs don’t have any new bonuses.

On the other hand, if you don’t already own the movies (or only have one or two), this is a great collection to bring them all home at once. While there aren’t new bonuses, and the films aren’t remastered, or otherwise jazzed up with new treatments, most of the films include some solid bonuses anyway, and even the aging Message in a Bottle looks pretty good.

The Collection includes:

Message in a Bottle A Walk to Remember The Notebook Nights in Rodanthe Dear John The Lucky One Safe Haven
