Ed Stoppard and Sophia Myles Fronting British Horror Flick Blackwood

11 December 2012 7:14 PM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Wildcard Films has started shooting a new supernatural thriller called “Blackwood” that will star Ed Stoppard, Sophia Myles, and Russell Tovey. The film is the directorial debut of Adam Wimpenny, and will star Stoppard (last seen in the sci-fi alien invasion flick “Branded”, left) and Myles (“Underworld” and “Moonlight”, though lately she’s been spending a lot of time on Brit TV’s “Mi-5″, below) as a married couple caught up in good ol fashion English supernatural happenings. Stoppard will play “a history professor and his wife who move to a large country house, Blackwood, with their eight year old son (Isaac Andrews). The husband has visions of a masked boy, and starts investigating a mysterious disappearance that may involve a war veteran (Russell Tovey). Searching For Sonny (2011)

5 December 2012 9:27 AM, PST | Planet Fury | See recent Planet Fury news »

Directed by: Andrew Disney

Written by: Andrew Disney

Featuring: Jason Dohring, Minka Kelly, Masi Oka, Nick Kocher, Brian McElhaney, Michael Kagan, Michael Hogan, Clarke Peters

Been to your high school reunion lately? I haven't. I was there for my fifth but, for the tenth and the fifteenth, I politely declined. It wasn't that I intensely disliked anyone from that period of my life (anymore…) or was worried about my status. I just decided that I didn't have any unfinished business, and if I did, well, I just hate the parking situation in that area, okay?

Elliot Knight (Jason Dohring, Moonlight and Veronica Mars), the protagonist of writer/director Andrew Disney's feature-length debut, Searching For Sonny, has plenty of unfinished business. When he gets a postcard about his tenth reunion, seemingly containing a message from his former high school pal Sonny Bosco (Masi Oka, Heroes and Hawaii Five-0), he decides to head home, »

The current third season is averaging 2.4 million total viewers and 942,000 adults 18-49. The September 21 Season 3 premiere drew 2.8 million total viewers, a series high and up 10% from the Season 2 premiere. The Top 10 Guest Spots We’d Love To See On TV

9 October 2012 9:42 PM, PDT | Scott Feinberg | See recent Scott Feinberg news »

By Rachel Bennett

Television Editor & Columnist

Last week, it was announced that Patton Oswalt, who hass appeared on such series as CBS’s Two and a Half Men, Fox’s Raising Hope and Showtime’s United States of Tara, will guest star on the upcoming season of FX’s Justified. He will play a former high school classmate of Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant).

Great guest spots are one of my favorite aspects of television. The occurrence can combine an actor and a show that are perfect for one another — even if it’s just temporarily. It can also draw viewers to a show they haven’t checked out yet, possibly giving a struggling series a boost in ratings. Some of my favorite recent moments on series have incorporated fantastic guest stars, including Parker Posey on FX’s Louie and Fox’s New Girl, Giancarlo Esposito on NBC’s Community and »

One Season Wondering: What Could Have Been...

5 July 2012 7:32 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

It is a story of love and loss. You watched a show and you fell in love, only to have some faceless network executive pull the plug on it and break your heart.

We've all been there. Perhaps you cried, threw things at your TV or drowned your sorrows in a pint of Rocky Road. Television is a harsh business, but we can mourn the loss together and help one another through the hard times.

This list could easily be doubled, maybe tripled - but let's take a look at a few one season wonders we still wish were on the air...

-------------------------------------------

The Secret Circle - CW (2011-2012) - The Circle had a bit of a slow start but seemed to pick up steam during the last half of the season. So when word came down after a great season finale that there would be no Season 2, diehards were blindsided. »

Smallville Co-Showrunners Relocate to The CW’s Beauty And The Beast

21 June 2012 4:00 AM, PDT | ScifiMafia | See recent ScifiMafia news »

It’ll be like homecoming week for Smallville‘s Lana when Beauty and the Beast star Kristin Kreuk starts working again with Smallville’s former co-showrunners Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders, who have now taken the same job with The CW‘s freshman show, an updated and reworked version of the 1980s Beauty and the Beast series.

THR broke the news, reporting that Peterson and Souders will be joining current showrunners/executive producers/writers Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper (Brothers & Sisters) as showrunners, which one has to think will be an interesting situation; four showrunners? Peterson and Souders most recently worked as consulting producers on yet another CW show, the one-season-only The Secret Circle.
