While Russell Crowe hit screens with two pretty much forgettable films--"Robin Hood" and "The Next Three Days"--and his next appearance booked in RZA's martial arts pic "Man With Iron Fists," the actor is lining up what is easily his most exciting project in years. Deadline reports that Crowe is looking to star and make his narrative feature directorial debut with the hostage thriller "77." Based on a story by crime writer extraordinaire James Ellroy ("L.A. Today begins the flurry of guild award nominations that can give you a good idea of which films are going to do well with the Academy. (As opposed to the Golden Globes or critics groups, many people who vote for guild prizes also vote for the Oscars.) The Art Directors Guild has announced its 15 nominees, including all the expected visual feasts (Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter, Inception) and overall awards contenders (The Social Network, The King’s Speech, True Grit). Here are their lists:

Art Directors Nominations Run Gamut from 'King's Speech' to 'Social Network' to 'Robin Hood'

Here's a batch of nominations that includes some new names alongside the usual suspects. The Art Directors Guild announced its nominations on Wednesday morning – and by separating the feature film nominees into Period Film, Fantasy Film and Contemporary Film categories, they were able to make room for the likes of "Shutter Island" (left), "Robin Hood" and "The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader" alongside awards heavyweights like "True Grit," "The King's Speech," "Black Swan," "The Fighter" and "The Social Network."
