Another quality documentary from Associated-Rediffusion
8 April 2007 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

This is another documentary from Victor Lewis-Smith's company, Associated Rediffusion that is hosted by Keith Allen. The last one was Michael Carroll - King of Chavs. Like, the previous documentaries this proves to be humorous, entertaining and gives some insight into the subject. Many have criticised Keith Allen for being pretentious and annoying. While, he can sometimes be a bit overbearing; he has genuine personality and is more entertaining than a lot of other presenters. The documentary follows a group of teenage Tourettes sufferers on a journey to France. Amongst the group is John Davidson (from John's Not Mad, The boy can't help it etc). As expected with this documentary there are many humorous scenes: a sweary outburst in a church is a personal favourite of mine. The film gives some insight into the condition of Tourettes, especially its symptoms but I would have liked a bit more detail.

Summary: A solid documentary. Although TV has recently become saturated with Tourettes documentaries; this is still one of the better ones. Well worth seeing for the humour and original take on the subject.
