The computer model shows Bismarck with large swastikas on her decks, but in fact these were only displayed when the ship was in German-controlled areas (to avoid attack by friendly aircraft), and were painted over when she left Norway to begin her Atlantic cruise. When Robert Ballard discovered the wreck in 1989, the swastikas were again visible because the new paint had been washed away; perhaps the images from Ballard's expedition prompted this inaccurate modelling.
