When I was a kid, my father told me there was no such thing as monsters; my nightmares were just figments of my imagination. As I got older, I had to wonder, was he lying to me... or just wrong?

Although "Birds of a Feather" wasn't intended as the opening episode to the series, the episode acts as a good introduction to the likable Harry Dresden character. This fantasy horror series shows great potential and I really hope it attracts the audience numbers it deserves.
The cast are excellent, the series containing some familiar faces such as British actor Paul Blackthorne and "Nip Tuck"'s beautiful Valerie Cruz. Speaking of good looking women, the show also stars gorgeous Natalie Lisinska as Dresden's love interest.
There's real scope for development for this series. I just hope that showing the episodes out of their correct running order isn't going to confuse (and lose) the audience. A real faux pas, to say the least, and one which baffles me.
There's a lot in the show to appeal to UK audiences so, hopefully, the near-simultaneous transmission by Sky will help matters. Certainly, British audiences in the past have saved some significant series which struggled in their first season in the US. Only time will tell.
8 out of 10.
