The Barkers, Helen (played by Liza Tarbuck) and Tony (played by Mark Addy of The Full Monty fame) lead a seemingly normal suburban life until Helen realizes that the next day is their 20th wedding anniversary. During the hastily planned backyard party, gossip amongst their friends and family runs amok, including each spouse commiserating with friends that the other is likely having an affair, some rather saucy sex scenes going on in the upstairs bedrooms and culmination with Tony's teenage girlfriend showing up with what is apparently his out-of-wedlock child. While a lot of this is "bonkers" the oddest thing so far is that Helen is having an obsessive fantasy relationship with a movie actor (Felix, played by Alex Hassell) who suddenly appears in her home at the end of the episode, apparently in a coma where he's filming a movie in New Zealand, allowing him to be with Helen, visible only to her. This is a combination comedy/drama, with some very funny and very tense emotional scenes. A very good laugh with substantive sadness beneath. Well done.
