Interview: Nick Kroll Starts it Up in ‘Adult Beginners’

Chicago – Finding the adult button and hitting “on” is becoming more of a challenge as the tech generation morphs into their thirtysomething era. Comedian Nick Kroll (“Kroll Show,” “The League”) ponders this situation in the new film “Adult Beginners,” a primer on growing up and moving on.

Kroll portrays Jake, a entrepreneur whose new tech gadget goes bust. Left with no life and no income, he moves back in with his sister (Rose Byrne) and brother-in-law (Bobby Cannavale). There is a twist – Jake’s nephew Teddy needs a daytime caregiver, and Nick is now available. As he takes on his new duties, he begins to understand that life has different angles, especially when it comes to raising children.

Blessed with good looks, a winning smile, hippie parents, and a sunny California upbringing, life has been relatively easy for Logan Wood so far. After nearly four decades of coasting along through countless women and random jobs, he now teaches yoga to the hot moms, trophy wives and aspiring celebrities of Santa Monica and Venice Beach.

Amazon Sets Premiere for 13 Pilots, Including The Man in the High Castle, Carlton Cuse's Civil War Drama

Amazon Studios’ first pilot season of 2015 will debut Thursday, Jan. 15, unveiling seven drama and comedy projects as well as a half-dozen kid-centric pilots.

Already due to debut via Amazon Studios this year are the first full seasons of Bosch, Hand of God and Red Oaks, plus Season 2 of Transparent. (Chris Carter’s The After meanwhile just had its series order scrapped.)
