''Fore!''
Rabical-917 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
After two decent series of 'Up The Elephant & Round The Castle', the show fell into decline with its third series. This opener is the first signs of the show starting to run out of ideas.

Jim is going steady with the lovely Fiona whose rich father ( Noel Coleman ) is a keen golfer. Jim tries to impress him by taking up the sport but his attempts at it are fruitless. Worse, whilst on the green, he accidentally hits another player in the groin with a ball. Fiona's father furiously chases him out of the green, wielding a golf club.

The first half of the episode in which we see Jim practising golf in his front room works well enough but by the time the action moves onto the golf course, it quickly loses its appeal. Noel Coleman has appeared in several sitcoms throughout the '70's and '80's as snobbish rich gentlemen, but is probably best remembered for his role as The Commander in the David Jason vehicle 'The Top Secret Life Of Edgar Briggs'.

Funniest bit - Jim practising a swing with one of his newly acquired golf clubs whilst his cack-handed father is fitting a new set of lights. Go on, guess what happens next!
