In this episode a central musical function is fulfilled by the Oboe Concerto in C Major KV 314, 1st Movement. The appearance of Amadeus is announced by his personal motif Serenade No. 13 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" in G-Dur KV 525, 1st Movement). His patron Prince Archbishop Schrattenbach we recognize by the Minuet in D Major KV 94, played on the cembalo. This playful theme expresses the Prince's cheerful and well-meaning character.
