The Punisher is one of those strange characters – his logo is instantly recognisable and he has a lot of name value and yet despite this he doesn’t have the popularity of a Batman or a Spider-Man. This could be partly down to three poorly received films – 1989′s The Punisher starring Dolph Lundgren, 2004′s Garth Ennis influenced version starring Thomas Jane and the ultraviolent (albeit straight to DVD) Punisher: War Zone with Ray Stevenson perfectly cast as Frank Castle – or maybe because his ultraviolent and uncompromising nature makes it near on impossible for him to be mass marketed. But with his iconic black and white skull-shirt and gruff Dirty Harry demeanor, the story of Frank Castle – a former Marine who engages in a one-man war on crime after his family is viciously gunned down in front of him – is one that strikes a chord with people due to its simplicity and grounded emotions, »

The current story of Indian cinema is that of unprecedented growth and rapid change. In 2011, consulting firm Kpmg predicted a 7% growth rate in India’s domestic theatrical sector for 2012. Instead, it grew 23.8%. Total revenues, including domestic and overseas theatrical, homevideo, cable and satellite and other ancillary revenue streams raked in 112.4 billion rupees ($2.1 billion). It is now projected to grow 21% annually to hit $3.6 billion by 2017.
Apart from the insatiable appetite of Indian audiences for home-grown films, the engine of growth and change has been the rapid digitization of the country’s 12,000 screens with nearly 80% now converted.
Due to the relative cheapness of non-dci compliant digital prints and satellite delivery, films can be shown on digital screens in tiny cinemas in small-town India. Digital prints also allow films to open wider than ever before. Big-budget pics with A-list stars now routinely open on 3,500 screens and usually make 60%-70% of their revenues in the opening week. »

The first image from Metallica Through the Never has been released.
Dane DeHaan stars in the upcoming IMAX feature as a crew member for Metallica, who is sent out on a mission through a sold-out arena whilst the band play onstage.
Directed by Nimród Antal (Predators), the film will combine real concert footage with a fictionalised narrative, and sees DeHaan's character Trip have his life "unexpectedly turned completely upside down".
DeHaan has been cast as Harry Osborn in Marc Webb's sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, and the first official image of him in character was released last month.
He will next be seen in Beat era drama Kill Your Darlings, alongside Daniel Radcliffe as Alan Ginsberg.
Metallica Through the Never will be released on August 9 in the Us, with a UK release date yet to be set.

I remember sitting in my bedroom in Inglewood, CA in my teens reading yet another awesome issue of The Amazing Spider-Man. The early ’90s: some would say that this was the apex of the golden years for Marvel’s marquee character. Howard Mackie and Tom DeFalco (who must have been under mind control or something) were waiting in the wings to ruin everything, but I digress. This article is about comic book movies.
Back in those days there was already talk about Marvel taking the movie business seriously, up until that point they relied on studio’s like Troma Films (Toxic Avenger) to handle their films, which as you might imagine produced less than stellar results (Dolph Lundgren as Punisher, Reb Brown as Captain America and the immediately and mercifully killed original Fantastic Four film starring who cares honestly).
Their cross town rivals had the luxury of being owned by Warner Bros. »

Sneak Peek your first look @ actor Paul Giamatti, before his transformation as villain 'The Rhino', on the set of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2".
'The Rhino' character, aka 'Aleksei Mikhailovich Sytsevich' was created by writer Stan Lee and illustrator John Romita, Sr., debuting in Marvel Comics' "The Amazing Spider-Man" #41 (Oct. 1966). A thug for hire working for an Eastern Bloc country, Sytsevich volunteered to participate in an experiment.
... bonding a super-strong polymer to his skin.
The bulletproof rhino-like hide, with two horns capable of penetrating plate steel, gave 'The Rhino' resistance to physical injury, explosions, anti-tank fire and temperature extremes.
A second comic book version of the character featured him wearing high-tech armor wielding a battle-axe with blades in the shape of rhinoceros horns.
