Jennifer Lawrence knows date night isn’t complete without her pup.
The 26-year-old actress brought along her dog Pippi to get dinner with her boyfriend, director Darren Aronofsky, 48, on Saturday.
A source tells People that the couple arrived at Nobu in Malibu, California, together in Lawrence’s Tesla.
“They seemed great,” the insider says. “She was laughing a lot.”
The duo kept things casual for their beachfront meal at the Hollywood hot spot. Aronofsky wore a baseball cap and blue sneakers, while Lawrence donned a denim jacket over a white shirt and a black maxi skirt.

You wouldn’t necessarily think a young ballet dancer on the rise and an aging wrestler on the last legs of his career would have much in common, but in the eyes of Darren Aronofsky they couldn’t be more similar. “Black Swan” and “The Wrestler,” like most movies in Aronofsky’s career, focus on the obsession of its characters. Both Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman) and Randy “The Ram” Robinson (Mickey Rourke) push their bodies to the extreme in the pursuit of artistic fulfillment, and Aronofsky captures their pain in similar ways.
A new video from Alejandro Villareal (via Film School Rejects) puts both movies side by side to compare the ways Aronofsky visualizes his character’s struggles. As Villareal explains in the introduction of the video, “Aronofsky takes his characters’ physicality and pushes them to the extreme. »

With The Mummy landing in cinemas this week, Universal has taken the opportunity to launch the trailer for its next Tom Cruise project. Once known as Mena, it’s now called American Made, and sees Cruise reuniting with director Doug Liman, following their work on Edge Of Tomorrow.
It also looks like Cruise’s most interesting acting role in some time.
The film tells the story of a hustler by the name of Barry Seal – the character is based on a real person, even if the adventures around him use creative licence – who finds himself recruited by the CIA.
Here’s the trailer…
(Apparently, the Us version of the trailer doesn’t have drugs in it, fact fans).
And here’s the full synopsis for the movie… »
In Universal Pictures’ American Made, Tom Cruise reunites with his Edge Of Tomorrow director, Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith), in this international escapade based on the outrageous (and real) exploits of a hustler and pilot unexpectedly recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in U.S. history.
Check out the first trailer now.
Edge Of Tomorrow was one of the best surprises in 2014. Combined with a lot of action and tremendous humor, the sci-fi adventure became an instant hit with audiences, grossed $111.1 million the weekend it opened in June 2014, made it the number one film internationally and worldwide.
In Jim Batts review, he described Liman’s film as, “a wild ride and an entertainment blockbuster. »

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for American Made, formerly known as Mena, which stars Tom Cruise in this drama based on an incredible true story. Along with the new trailer, Universal has released the first poster and photos featuring Tom Cruise, Domhnall Gleeson and Sarah Wright. This drama could very well shape up to be the first big hit of the fall movie season, arriving in theaters September 29.

The trailer gives Cruise a time to shine in the role as Seal with comedic aplomb from the very outset as he crash lands a plane full of cocaine, which also covers his face and bad 80’s haircut, into a suburban neighbourhood but before legging it before he can get caught hands a youngster bags of cocaine to keep quiet – You never saw me. We glimpse Domhnall Gleason as CIA agent Monty Shafer recruiting Seal in a bar before proceeding to get his groove on, on the bonnet of a car as the men’s deal goes from strength. Typical male bravado, womanising and deals galore commence in what promises to be a refreshing role for Cruise, »

Cannes — European film-tv powerhouse Studiocanal has nearly sold out in international at Cannes on its two big new English-language projects: Working Title-produced “Radioactive,” director Marjane Satrapi’s story of the loves, life and lasting importance of Marie Curie; and “The Tracking of a Russian Spy,” produced by The Picture Company and directed by Nima Nourizadeh (“Project X”).
In further business, Studiocanal’s two new French productions, the Gilles Lellouch-directed “Sink or Swim” and mainstream comedy “Marry Me, Dude” have proved market breakouts, pre-selling much of the world, a feat for French-language movies.
The robust business on Studiocanal’s Cannes market debutants proves that there is still a global market for high-profile larger upscale movies with pedigree producers. It also underscores something of a late surge in business announcements at Cannes this year, driven by its big sales players, from both the U.S. and Europe – and that much of the »

Better late than never. In February, the U.K. and Brazil ratified a film-tv co-production treaty first unveiled in 2012.
At the Rio Content Market in March, Brazilian and French film authorities signed a framework collaboration pact hailed as a first step toward their own bilateral co-production treaty. The main Brazil event at Cannes will be a U.K.-Brazilian co-production meet, organized by state-backed film promotional entity, Cinema do Brasil.
Brazil’s film industry has long been a force to reckon with on the international stage. But the thrust of its film policy abroad over the past decade has been into international co-production, particularly in Latin America. Spearheaded by state-backed film agency Ancine, this Portuguese-speaking nation has forged co-production treaties with a host of countries including Argentina, Uruguay, Canada, Chile, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Venezuela; and it is signatory to multilateral treaties such as the Ibero-American Film Integration and »

The plot of Mother!, the upcoming Darren Aronofsky movie starring Jennifer Lawrence, is still largely unknown, but over the weekend, the project got a gorgeous yet supremely creepy poster. Released on Mother’s Day, the illustration shows Lawrence with a glazed expression and her heart ripped from her body. She holds it out as blood runs down her hands.

The font is gothic, but the backdrop is floral, and it all adds up to something deeply unsettling. (Peer closer and you might find secrets in the flowers.) The Wrap reported back in March that the film is a “horror-thriller” along the lines of Aronofsky’s Black Swan. It also stars Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Domhnall Gleeson and involves ”uninvited guests” showing up at a couple’s home.

Darren Aronofsky is all set to make his directorial comeback with a psychological thriller laden with an all-star ensemble cast in Mother (or mother! as it seems to be) so it only made sense that Aronofsky took to Twitter on Mother’s Day to reveal the first look image from the upcoming film.
The image, in the form of an illustrated poster, is pretty gruesome, but would you expect any less from the man who brought us Black Swan with Natalie Portman – who he recently worked with on last year’s Jackie where he took the chair of producer. The poster depicts a fresh-faced Jennifer Lawrence in an angelic pose surrounded by lilac flowers with an innocent yet pained expression as she holds out her bloodied hands which contain her heart which we can assume she tore from her own chest.

Black Swan director Aronofsky decided to join in with the Mother's Day celebrations overseas by dropping a poster for his latest outing.
Darren Aronofsky has made some absolutely cracking films over the last two decades. Pi, Requiem For A Dream and Black Swan all saw the director wearing his influences on his sleeve - from Tetsuo: The Iron Man to Perfect Blue to Suspiria - while he still managed to create very individual pieces of work and become a celebrated director in his own right, even picking up an Oscar nomination back in 2011.

Though Darren Aronofsky has ventured into his fair share of grim and disturbing material over the years, he’s yet to deliver a true horror film. Thankfully, that looks set to change with his upcoming effort, the mysterious Mother! Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris, Domhnall Gleeson and Kristen Wiig – quite the cast, eh? – we don’t know too much about the project just yet. However, from what we’ve heard, it’s set to be another dark and intense outing for the always interesting director.
Quite appropriately, Paramount has chosen today (Mother’s Day) to kick off the film’s marketing campaign with a gory first poster, which you can see below. It doesn’t tell us anything about the plot, but given that it features Lawrence holding her bloody heart in her hands, we take it that this one won’t be for those who are squeamish. »

Eat your heart out, Darren Aronofsky fans. Not one to let a holiday go by unremarked, the writer/director just released the poster for his upcoming “mother!,” which stars Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem. Avail yourself of the first-look image below.
The film is described as concerning “a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.” Through the powers of deductive reasoning, one might reasonably conclude that Lawrence and Bardem play said couple, while the rest of the cast — Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris and Domhnall Gleeson — as the interlopers.

One of this year’s biggest surprises was that Darren Aronofsky had secretly directed a psychological horror film in the vein of Black Swan. Titled mother!, which is infinity fun to say aloud, the all-star cast includes Jennifer Lawrence, who is shown on the first poster tearing out her own heart! Happy Mother’s Day indeed.
