Live from Winston Salem, NC

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan Vs The Giant (W/Jimmy Hart)

The Giant wins with a chokeslam. Why on earth would you put these two together in a match for? That's just asking for trouble. The match was awful, as you may expect. Duggan wails on The Giant with a weapon, yet no DQ is called. Just terrible booking all around.

½*

The Nasty Boys Vs The Road Warriors

In an epic moment, The Steiner Brothers show up on Harley Davidson's and ride down the ring. Apparently, either The Steiner's or The Road Warriors attacked The Nasty Boys. The Steiner's will now face The Road Warriors.

The Steiner Brothers Vs The Road Warriors

Why the hell would you give this away on free T.V, though?! This is a dream match, build it up! LOD wins after Animal drills Rick with one of his shoulder pads behind the ref's back. The match itself is a lot of fun. It was absolute chaos at times with both going out of their way to put on a show. The finish is a bit confusing because I don't remember The Road Warriors being heel at this stage. Maybe, I'm wrong.

***1/4

Scott Steiner says they've waited to face The Road Warriors for 4 years and they came to WCW just to face them. Scott says the way The Road Warriors won is a disgrace. Rick says this isn't over between them.

Thoughts: I'm guessing it was The Road Warriors that attacked The Nasty Boys, then.

Television Championship

Lex Luger (C) Vs Alex Wright

Luger wins, thanks to help from Jimmy Hart. This was actually not to shabby of a match! It's just too bad it had little to no heat behind it.

*3/4

Double Strap Lumberjack Match

Ric Flair, Arn Anderson & Kevin Sullivan (W/Miss Elizabeth & Woman) Vs Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage & The Booty Man

The Lumberjacks are holding straps on the outside. Each time a wrestler goes out, they can get hit with a strap. A wrestler can use the strap on his opponent at any time as well. Hogan wins by pinning Flair with a legdrop. This was absolutely atrocious! Not only was it hard to follow, but very boring and redundant as well. This is one of the silliest match ideas WCW ever came up with.

DUD

Flair, Sullivan and Arn Anderson comment about the four cages match they're gonna have with Hulk Hogan. Hogan has to go through three cages if he wants to get to Flair. Arn Anderson says he and Flair have been married to Hogan and Savage for some time now. He claims the war between them will never be over. He also says nothing in the strap match resembled professional wrestling. PIPEBOMB! Flair taunts Savage by saying he has Miss Elizabeth (who looks legitimately uncomfortable by Ric Flair grabbing her)

This episode of Nitro is pretty bad, despite the fun match between The Steiner's and The Road Warriors. When you have a match with the worst rating you can possibly get (DUD) , it usually means it's not a very good show. It's not just the horrible strap match, though. The Giant and Duggan had a terrible match as well. All the story lines were very stale.
