Storyline

Time to get to know the girl behind the clarinet. Whereas the rest of her family make their mark by spitting out rhymes to booming base beats, Jal seeks solace from the chaos all around her in the classical tunes flowing over her single reed. Although seemingly trying to keep a controllable distance from the adolescent conundrum that the 21st century teenagers have created around her, it is not long before she is sucked into the whirlwind of her surroundings. But can the resulting destruction create something better? Written by Headblade

Jal's Story
11 December 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Since Jal is the most introverted character in this particular show, this episode that focused on her seemed quite bland. Yeah we found out that she's part of a very musically inclined family (rap star father, beat boxxing brothers) But the story goes absolutely nowhere and this was a strangely unfilling filler episode. Yes Madison shows up late in the episode and a fight breaks out, but it seemed just too little too late to save this one boring episode in an otherwise pretty fun little series. I've heard rumors that Jal will ditch the 'good girl' image in Series 2, if this episode is any indication then it's a very good move on the part of the writers. Again I love the series, but this part not so much.

My Grade: C-
