Those who aren’t familiar with anything but the cute Teen Titans series are in for quite a surprise as the heroes return to their darker roots in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, which is one of the most incredible efforts from the comics. The feature-length film is inspired by a story arc from the 1984 DC comic, and has an incredible voice cast backing the supremely gritty arc.

The Blu-Ray Giftset, which includes an exclusive Blue Beetle figurine, will hit on April 18th, with Digital HD release on April 4th.

In The Judas Contract, the Titans – Beast Boy, Raven, Blue Beetle, Robin, and Nightwing – are led by Starfire, but their newest teammate, Terra, is throwing the groups dynamic out of whack, and the team comes up against Brother Blood, an ancient evil, and Deathstroke is waiting in the wings to cause problems as well.

Richard Linklater and Robert Downey Jr. to Get Nuts for Dr. John Brinkley Biopic

14 February 2017 9:32 AM, PST | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

As much as Robert Downey Jr. has defined the Marvel brand after launching it nearly a decade ago, his time commitment to the franchise means less room for films in the ilk of his pre-superhero days of Zodiac and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. So, whenever he decides to team with one of our favorite directors, we certainly await the project. With that said, his most promising film in some time is on the horizon.

According to Variety, Richard Linklater will direct the Tropic Thunder actor in a biopic surrounding Kansas doctor John Romulus Brinkley. While he was the basis for last year’s documentary Nuts! — depicting his time in the early 20th century when he said he could cure impotence by transplanting goat testicles into men — they will be specifically adapting the Reply All podcast’s recent episode “Man of the People.”

Latest Movies Reviews and Our Personal Thoughts

7. Inglourious Basterds – Release Date: June 2009

Quentin Tarantino has the ability to evoke passion from audiences. Love him or call him a hack that repeatably steals the visions of other directors for his gain, this auteur has a style all his own…. In his first movie since 2003/2004’s Kill Bill, Tarantino heads to Germany. Nazi Germany.

Starring Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Samm Levine, and Mike Myers (yes, that Mike Myers), Tarantino’s upcoming World War II movie centers on a group of Jewish-American soldiers who scalp and barbarously slaughter Nazis. If that doesn’t say “fun”, I’m not sure what does.

8. Sherlock Holmes – Release Date: November 20, 2009

Coming off two brilliant performances in Iron Man and Tropic Thunder, Robert Downey Jr. will be Sherlock Holmes next Thanksgiving. From director Guy Ritchie (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch), the legendary detective and his faithful partner Watson (played by Jude Law) must »

Ryan Reynolds Responds to Deadpool Oscar Snub

24 January 2017 10:31 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

The nominations for the 89th annual Academy Awards were announced this morning and despite a lot of hope and momentum heading into today, Deadpool didn't wind up getting any Oscar nods. As an R-rated, violent superhero movie, Deadpool may have seemed like it had no chance, but there was actually a real chance that Ryan Reynolds' passion project could have scored some Oscar love this year. Even though it didn't get nominated, Ryan Reynolds had a very classy reaction to the news.

When it started to seem like Deadpool actually had a shot at scoring an Oscar nomination or two, Ryan Reynolds started campaigning a bit for the movie. He even released a "for your consideration" video done in true Deadpool fashion and promised a reaction video in character if the movie did wind up getting some love from the Academy. Today, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to congratulate »

Us Avengers #1 Introduces A New Red Hulk

4 January 2017 9:25 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

With Us Avengers finally making its debut this week, it comes as no surprise that such an ambitious new title would make changes to the Marvel status quo. One that we can’t help but to discuss is the introduction of a new Red Hulk.

That’s right. Not only has Jennifer Walters stepped up to claim the proper Hulk mantle as of late, but there’s a new brute of the red variety in town. If you’re a fan of Thunderbolt Ross, you may find yourself a bit disappointed, but we all know the publisher certainly loves to shake things up these days.

The new Red Hulk is, in fact, none other than General Robert L. Maverick, who is making use of a “Hulk Plug-in,” something that unfortunately didn’t arrive in time for Christmas. In short, »
