Storyline

Vicious Whitey Sims is being extradited to Nevada to face a first degree murder charge and a likely death sentence. He manages to escape from Sergeant Samson, but he is shot and wounded by Dan Mathews. Sims abducts Alice Carter and forces her to drive to the apartment/card store that she shares with her paraplegic mother. He holds the two women as hostages and forces them to treat his gunshot wound, but a clue left by Alice helps Dan and Sergeant Williams locate the card store. When they enter, the resourceful Mrs. Carter is able to discreetly let them know that Sims is there. They leave and re-enter through the store's back door, but a tense final confrontation ensues when Sims uses the terrified Alice Carter as a shield. Written by Sam Spear

Goofs

When calling for roadblocks, Matthews talks into the wrong side of the radio microphone (the side with the silver button to hold the microphone). He also never releases the push-to-talk button, yet the dispatcher answers him. The radios used could only transmit or receive, so if Matthews was transmitting (talking) he could not hear the station. See more »

Quotes

Mrs. Carter: I couldn't get excited, or scared, I've got a bad heart.
Chief Dan Mathews: I wish all our hearts were that bad.
