- ConnectionsFollowed by Hannity (2009)
Featured review
Sunday Evening Solo Shot of Sean! Kind of like having just Laurel or Costello; with no Hardy or Abbott! Interesting, Informative and Enjoyable, though!
Having a highly successful Syndicated Conservative Radio Talk show as well as being co-host of the very highly rated and watched HANNITY & COLMES daily hour on Fox News Network made Sean Hannity a natural candidate for a solo weekly show on Sunday Evening; at least that's what the folks over at Murdochville (Fox News) thought. The resulting project turned out to be HANNITY'S America.
Rather than being the lively, debate oriented show that Hannity and his partner & Liberal counterbalance, Mr. Alan Colmes have managed to pull off for these past dozen years or so. There is none of the friendly adversary business here as the Show has more of a news magazine look to it.*
Clearly this is a much more personal production, the person being (just as the Title implies) Sean Hannity. It is up to him to choose the weekly line-up and set the agenda. Inasmuch as Mr. Hannity's philosophy leans decidedly to the Political Right; it should be no surprise that the point of view featured is most often Conservative.
A lot of my Legion of Readers may argue, why does Fox News Channel pretend to be a News Organization; when it clearly has a Conservative philosophy? The answer is clear and elementary.
On all of FNC's personality featured programs break at the half-past the hour for ..what? Why it's a NEWS BREAK! Now why would a strictly news show have a break foe news?
The answer is plain as the nose on my face (you outta see it)! Discussion and debate oriented news analysis shows, by their very definition, go beyond the limits of a news report. Whereas a news hour or half hour is supposed to report on the Who, What, Where and When; it is an opinion program which is there in order to get into the Why.
And yet, we see so many hard news items which cross the line with a strictly Left Wing point of view in "explaining" a story to the public. Who behaves like this? Well we see plenty of examples daily on the Liberal biased CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, PBS and NPR. And these jokers are the first to cast a stone at Fox.
In addition to the political close-ups and the extended interviews that the shows format allows, Mr. Hannity has chosen a regular feature titled 'Beyond Belief'; which is a most interesting segment dealing with Faith related occurrences in our world. By way of a true spirit of the ecumenical; there is no limitation of any particular Religion, Sect or Denomination; we learn things that we most likely would not about how the other guy worships, lives and dies.
Whether or not it was intended this way; it surely is a fine way to cap a Sunday evening's viewing. We think Hannity intended it to be that way. THANX, Sean!
NOTE: * Even though Hannity and Colmes each represent divergent political philosophies and don't hesitate to declare themselves, just as it is in a real Primary Election; they always maintain things on the highest plain. Their relationship is a bit reminiscent of those formerly displayed by such notables as: William F. Buckley, Jr. & N.Y. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, G. Gordon Liddy & Dr. Timothy Leary and James Carvell & Mary Matlin (Husband & Wife). Alan and Sean may not be close friends; but they are respectful enough and may even have a few cocktails together after a week's worth of nightly debating.
