Ronnie "borrows" ten pounds from her mother (without her knowing) for the Hip-hop competition. At the launderette Ziggy gives the non-functioning drinks machine a thump and it maliciously squirts coffee all over his trousers. He simply adds it to the already full load, incurring further wrath from the launderette helper, who's not pleased to find shoes being dried. At the shopping precinct, while waiting for Fiona, Ronnie sees Calley and others shoplifting - it's all part of the ongoing dares between the girls. Meanwhile Laura has got dressed up for a special dinner party at home. Laura's old friend Julia, tanned after a trip abroad, turns up. Ronnie and Fiona wait for Gonch's dad to turn up with transport for their equipment, for the Hip-hop competition, but he turns up with a rag and bone man's horse and cart!
