Trivia

Nancy Chartier was cast in Divine Souls (2007) as Kerri and shortly after, her real life husband, co-star Rocky Muether, was cast as her love interest, Gavin. Halfway through filming though, Nancy informed the film's director, James McDonald, that they were getting a divorce. James was worried that it would interfere with the remainder of the film that still had to be shot but Nancy reassured him that they remained good friends and on good terms and there was no problem completing the film. Bob: Yes my dear, and you're demolishing our machine again.
[pause]
Bob: Bad day?
Kerri: [breaks down] I'm losing him Bob. He's only nine years old and there's nothing I can do about it.
Bob: That's not good.
[Kerri shakes her head 'no']
Bob: But today is good for me. I'm still here and, eating my ice cream.
Kerri: [Kerri smiles] Yeah, you take care Bob

Just like real life
15 March 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Forget reality TV and reality movies. Director James McDonald's Divine Souls brings you real people in real situations with real problems and real solutions. It's what real life is like, with all of the emotional elements dedicated health care workers deal with on a day-to-day basis. Nancy Chartier, Kelley West, and the late Jeffie Legend head up a terrific ensemble cast in a skillfully directed and edited film that will touch you, move you and inspire you and in more than one place, touch your heart. If you don't shed some tears by film's end, you probably don't have tear ducts. - Vincent Scuro, Southwest Orlando Bulletin
