Considering the fact that the movie industry is a dying breed in Pakistan and more than 50% of cinema halls have been converted to theater halls or shopping malls, Majajan has been nothing short of a breath of fresh air.
It may not be the best execution one has ever seen but given the story line, the husband and wife pair of Syed Noor (The Director) and Saima (The Producer & Leading Lady) have managed to do a pretty decent job.
Shan and Saima may not have too much competition with the dearth of acting talent, but they have once again proved how good they are given a good script and direction. Shan is one of the most talented actors in the sub continent. Its a bit of shame that he is working at a time when good films are as rare as blue moons.
Both Saima and Shan were at their brilliant best during a couple of memorable scenes. Firstly, the song "Tere Ishq Nachaya Kar Kay Thayya Thayya" and then their last meeting.
With the occasional loophole, this is definitely one of the strongest movies to come out of the terminally ill Pakistan movie industry in a while.
Fast approaching 150 weeks and still growing strong, maybe this is the tonic the movie industry needs. Then again, maybe its too late.
