Given the 33 years since watching this pilot I'll readily admit not being able to recall the plot line, outside of Ron Ely portraying a (formerly active) Navy Seal who retained considerable skills. In his early 40's, Ron had the gravity and physique to be tailor made for this role. He lived on his boat and at one point while on board, I recall a scene in which he tested his dexterity with some ball bearings (it may have been a matter of snatching three off a table before they rolled off) but he missed one, ruefully, yet silently, acknowledging the decline of his abilities. Of course he's eventually drawn into some conflict with bad guys who ultimately lose (he's a Seal, right?). At the end he retested himself, this time catching all three balls, as if to proclaim that he was ready for action once again. The tone of the character really resonated with me, even at that early age and I hope some day it will see the light of day.
