d Ever since Lena Luthor was introduced as a character in Supergirl Season 2, episodes focusing on her have been some of my absolute favorite hours ever of the series. There’s a depth to Lena that I’ve always found compelling, as she battles against the dark nature of her family with her more altruistic actions. While Lena knows she never intended any harm, she fears there may have been a flaw in her design, leaving her responsible. Kara (Melissa Benoist) teams up with Samantha (Odette Annable) to clear Lena’s name, but it turns out to be harder than they thought. Guest Stars Abound In Supergirl And The Flash’s Week 5 Synopses

Though the summer hiatus felt like an eternity, we can now breathe easier with the fall season of DC TV being back in full swing. Not only that, but synopses for episodes set to air during week 5 have now surfaced online, including those for Supergirl and The Flash.

First, on Monday, November 6, corrupt businessman Morgan Edge will once again prove to be a thorn in the side of Supergirl and her cohorts. This time, he’s causing headaches for Lena Luthor by saying that she’s responsible of a string of lead poisonings in National City. If you’ll recall, her involvement in taking down the Daxamite invasion in last spring’s finale by building the lead bomb was crucial, but it sounds like he’ll sow enough doubt in Lena to make her second guess those valiant efforts.

The Weekend Ahead - "The Day the Earth Stood Still" widest opener. "Torino," "Reader" welcomed.

Twentieth Century Fox's remake of the science fiction classic "The Day the Earth Stood Still" unspools into a big 3,560 venues as the widest opener this weekend. The Scott Derrickson ("The Exorcism of Emily Rose") helmed picture is newly screenwritten by David Scarpa based on the Edmund H. North 1951 version. Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly lead the cast which includes Kathy Bates, Jaden Smith, John Cleese, Jon Hamm, Kyle Chandler and Robert Knepper. Hollywood shows once again it's starvation for good material. (review). Indie distributor Freestyle Releasing sends out its animated "Delgo" offering. It is highly unlikely that the fantasy adveture helmed by Kason Maurer and Marc F. Adler will bring in much from its 2,160 venues.
