In a dramatic conclusion of a stage play, actress Sarah Amberley takes a bullet from a love rival, only it's a real bullet, Cork and Marriott have to investigate, and learn if it was an accident, or a cold blooded murder.
To my reckoning, this was the final episode of Sergeant Cork, sadly it didn't come back for a seventh series, and that's a shame, however this episode isn't a favourite, it's a bit of a damp squib. Despite some good ideas, it just feels a little amateur, if I'm honest, it feels like the play from an episode of Whodunnit, you can almost imagine Jon Pertwee picking over the bones of it.
Angela Douglas is presented as a pretty face here, an actress I always, perhaps unfairly associate with the Carry on films, but a talented actress, I loved the scenes of her appearing on stage, so over the top, it must have been hard to act in such a way.
Decent, but a cracking series deserved a better send off.
6/10.
