***SPOILERS*** Former heavyweight boxer-all 275 pounds of him- Abe "Simple" Simon in one of his rare TV an movie appearance when he isn't taking bets for actor George Raft at the Yonker's race track is muscleman Stanley for just released from the clink or prison Tanzi who's out to avenge his being sent up the river-prison-by our hero in this series private investigator Mike Barrett. All Tanzi wants for Barrett is to go into exile or better yet get the hell out of town in any which way he can and never come back so he can continue his criminal operations without any interference.

At first after being knocked out and chloroformed Barrett is given a one way ticket to sunny Mexico City which he skips out on and then with the help of Tazi's very reluctant secretary Le Clerc, she only did it with a gun pointed to her head, kidnapped and taken for a ride by boat to New York Bay to get deep sixths without a life preserver.

***SPOILERS**** In fact it's a life preserver that ends up saving both Barrett and Le Cerc's lives with Barrett using one to alert the US Coast Guard to come to his rescue. As for Stanley, who's been keeping an eye on Barrett, this just didn't turn out to be his day as he ends up getting conked over the head by Barrett with a fire extinguisher as well as shot by fellow hood working for Tanzi Sammy who mistook him, how the hell could he, for Barrett.
