Pickpocket Mickey Joyce takes advantage of two naive American tourists in London, honeymooning couple Frank and Jane. Aside from stealing cash, Mickey finds an insurance policy for a small fortune in diamonds.
I've recently been watching the show's later episodes, I would perhaps suggest that this show improved and got a little sharper with time. Honeymoon is a little raw, a little rough around the edges.
I'm not sure the story hangs together particularly well, it seems so unlikely that Maguire, especially when you hear he's been attached to The Flying Squad, would be in attendance for a case of pickpocketing.
Not the most effective dust up I've ever seen, he doesn't really react to the punch. The market scenes on the other hand look great.
There are definitely a few obvious clues here, Mickey's love of expensive suede shoes for one, it didn't take them too long to work out the Thief's identity.
I did enjoy Vic Wise's cheeky chappy character Mickey, he made for a convincing pickpocket, such an innocent face.
6/10.
