Errors in geography 

The beginning of the movie takes place in Long Island, New York. As the scene progresses, several palm trees can be spotted throughout the neighborhood and highway. New York is not a tropical location and no palm trees grow in this region of the United States.

Factual errors 

The aircraft used in the movie is a three-engine Lockheed L-1011. When Brian adjusts the throttle, there are four levers shown, indicating he is flying a four-engine aircraft.
