The song Charlie is singing is Wonderwall by Oasis. Not unlike Driveshaft, Oasis is a British rock band based around two brothers, one of which is named Liam.
The art in Widmore's office has echos of Dharma, and LOST island. The painting behind Desmond has a Polar Bear, an upside down Buddha, and the word Namaste backwards.
Charlie's full name is Charles Hieronymus Pace.
The song that Desmond hears playing by the jukebox in the pub is "Make Your Own Kind Of Music" by 'Mama' Cass Elliot. It is the same song he played in the Swan station just minutes before Jack and Locke blew the hatch open.
The book Hurley is reading is Vladimir Nabokov's novel "Laughter in the Dark". It is a book about a guy whose sex addiction is his undoing.
