Storyline

Mr. Robson tells Miss Carver that he wants her to come with him on the trip he's planned - she declines the offer. Carl and Claire give a lecture to the kids on the estate, intending to show how someone from their background can do well for themselves and demonstrating Carl's modern art made from everyday objects. Neither can control the disinterested youths. Claire hands out some notes, but the belligerent kids just screw up the paper and toss it aside. Finally Carl gets their interest by talking about money. Then, to Claire's horror, he points out that although making art can bring in money, it's nothing to the money that Claire's father earns as a barrister. Maddie spends the day at home with a hangover - her mother cottons on to her secret vodka in a water bottle trick and tells her they are going to the doctor. The doctor, though, points the finger at Maddie's mum for leaving alcohol around. It's time for the football match and Ian lines up for the coach. Then, Mr. Deverill ... Written by Geffers
