Gotrox, the theatrical magnate, is anxious to sign Signor Bologna, the celebrated tenor, who has just arrived, but he fears that the Signor will ask five thousand dollar contract, on the promise of a thousand dollar present for herself. She sets out on the task, but meets with violent opposition from the tenor's jealous wife and from Jack Hustler, a rival manager. One ludicrous experience follows another, but finally Nell seems defeated when Hustler kidnaps the tenor in his automobile. Just a Bologna is about to sign the contract Hustler's auto goes over an embankment and when the dust clears Bologna and Hustler are pinned underneath the wreckage. Nell, following in her own car, offers her aid in extricating them as soon as Bologna places his signature on the contract, which is speedily done.
